Sariah was the wife of Abraham, and mother of Isaac. Her name was later changed to Sarah.

Her Life

Sariah was nearly 80 years old when an angel promised her that she would give birth. At the time, she laughed, wondering how such a thing could happen. After being promised earlier that she would conceive, she had already asked Abraham to marry her servant Hagar, who had conceived and given birth to Ishmael.

Following Ishmael's birth, Sariah became jealous of Hagar, and the two did not get along. Following Isaac's birth, and Ishmael's teasing Isaac, Sarah sent the two away.
