Seminary
Seminary is a program for 9th-12th grade students to learn gospel principles. In some states, such as Utah and Idaho, students are able to attend seminary during release-time from high school. These classes are taught daily by professional teachers. Classes are usually taught in a building adjacent to the junior high or high school.
In other areas, seminary is taught in the early mornings, before school starts. "Early morning seminary", is usually taught around 6 AM, by lay members of the church. Classes are either at a church, or a home.
The four-year program studies the Book of Mormon, Church History (which includes the Doctrine and Covenants, the Old Testament, and New Testament. Students who successfully complete the four-year study recieve a certificate of graduation.
